Hey Omna friends, happy July! Hope you all are enjoying the summer!

To put it lightly, it’s been a rough first half of the year for many. Sometimes it can be unavoidable to focus on all of the bad stuff going on in the world. But we got to thinking, what’s been good so far? What can we celebrate? Here are a few highlights:

Ketanji Brown Jackson marked a milestone in American representation when she was sworn in as the first Black woman to sit on the nation's highest court.
It’s been a strong start of the year for movies. Box office sales are inching closer to pre pandemic levels (ticket sales up 263% compared to last year). “Top Gun: Maverick” recently rocketed to $1 billion at the global box office, setting a new career milestone for Tom Cruise (CNBC).
While record high gas prices are definitely not something to celebrate, the good news is that this has increased investors' interest in energy and ways to cut down on the use of fossil fuels. The two largest VC funding deals to U.S.-based startups recently went to an electric vehicle charging company and a company working on carbon transformation technology (Crunchbase).

Prior to Omna, she was at Goldman Sachs in their Human Capital Management division, helping to run the company's employee investment program.
