Another month, another newsletter! Here are some updates from us:
We made a new hire: We’re really excited to have Mel join growing team! Mel comes to us from a background in financial services, and loves plants, parrots, and karaoke. We’re still in the process of ramping up with her, but trust that she will be a good point-of-contact to all of you looking for things out on the East Coast soon.
We’re working on an interview guide for you: We want to provide first-time interviewees for startup/tech roles with helpful tips and guidelines on what to expect, as well as FAQs to prep for. Please help us build the best possible guide ever, by taking 1 minute to weigh in on (a) content you want us to cover (b) FAQs you’ve come across.
We want to share raw equity benchmark data with you: Thanks for helping us out by submitting your data last month. While we’re still trying to collect more data points to contribute to more robust guidelines around equity compensation, we do want to share preliminary raw and anonymized data as a big thank you for the help thus far. You can find the spreadsheet here. If you have not submitted your data yet - please do so here, as we will be continually updating the numbers.
Carson moved to Hawaii: Many of you are likely familiar with Carson, who works with a lot of our West Coast clients. He just moved to Hawaii to WFH there - if you happen to also be in Honolulu, feel free to drop him a quick Aloha :-)

As we’ve grown, we get a good amount of clients reaching out to us for help on roles we’re less equipped to recruit for. These aren’t things that we work on actively, but always have our eyes and ears open for candidates that we can share.
We want to try something new with these roles: We want to crowdsource the recruiting.
Here are the asks:
We want someone who has done merchandise planning work at a D2C retailer. They should have about 4-8 years of total work experience, and want to join an earlier stage, profitable, eCommerce startup in a Merchandise Planning role. Role is remote. HQ is in SF.
We want someone who is an Operations / GM type candidate, who wants to manage and run a small property management company in Chicago. This is a great job for someone who wants to ‘be their own boss’ - stable salary and profit-sharing on top.
